Organizing and Weight Loss
I love having things organized. I am not going to say that my house is clean or straightened up 100 percent of the time. My goal is to have it where we can quickly get it back to organized within 15 or 20 minutes. In other words, my pantry doesn't always look like this picture but I can quickly get it back like this with minimal effort. Our house stays in a constant state of "looking lived in" but I know that if someone calls saying they will be at my house in 10 minutes, I can get things presentable by the time they arrive. Now that I have set the stage for you, I want to explain what this has to with my weight loss journey.
When things are in order, I am happier and I feel more in control. When the pantry and refrigerator are organized, it makes meal planning and prepping much easier. When my office is organized, I am likely to be more productive. When things get out of control and there is too much clutter, I start feeling overwhelmed and I want to start looking for the easy way out. This might mean not meal planning or not cooking because I do not want to deal with my messy kitchen. This dominoes into deciding to go out to eat or ordering food which leads to making bad choices. At that point, I just want to eat comfort food in hopes it makes me feel better that things are chaotic. Does this make sense?
Bottom line, having things in order has helped my weight loss journey. In turn, losing the weight has helped me stay organized. I have more energy and drive to keep things in order.
