Why?
All of us on this journey want to lose weight but, why? Have you ever stopped to think about the reason you want to lose weight and also why you gained in the first place? Everyone has their own “why” for weight gain and I do believe it is important to know and deal with it for a successful journey. I can attribute some of my “why” for weight gain to medical reasons but most of it was due to emotional eating surrounding these reasons. Thus, the cycle started. I gained so much weight that it affected my quality of life. If I had not done something about it, I would have ended up doing more serious damage to my body than I had already done. My family is my number one WHY for starting this journey. I feel this goes hand in hand with doing it for my health and well-being. If my health is not in good condition, I will not be able to do the things I want and need to do for my family.
I have no doubt that if I had not made the decision to get serious in January 2014, that I would have become immobile at much too young an age. That would have been because of my actions (or lack thereof), not some unfortunate accident or illness. It would have deliberately been caused by me. I take full responsibility for how I got to that bad place and I also take full responsibility for getting out of it.
