Resale Shopping

I have always loved to shop. I am that friend that will gladly make time to be a shopping buddy. However, when I gained my weight, shopping for clothing became more of a dreaded chore. Let’s face it, shopping for the size of clothing I was in, simply was not fun. It was depressing. There were not many options unless I went to a few specialty stores and shelled out a whole paycheck for an outfit or two. That just added insult to injury. As if being overweight wasn’t bad enough but on top of that, limited options that cost more. Rant over about that. You get the picture that I didn’t enjoy shopping for clothes.

As I started losing weight, I needed to start buying smaller clothes. This was very exciting but still being in Plus Sizes, I knew paying full retail was just not going to work. I decided to resale shop. I began buying things from our neighborhood virtual garage sale app, local resale boutiques and Goodwill. I quickly realized that I could find nice, name brand items for a fraction of the cost. There were still some limitations in what I was finding in the size I wore but at least I was not paying a premium. I also began selling the clothing that was too big. This helped fund buying smaller items.

Now, 95 pounds lighter I again love shopping for clothes. There are more options at better prices. I am still resale shopping too because I love a good find. It’s the thrill of the hunt and knowing that I do not have to break the bank to dress cute. Consider doing some resale shopping! You deserve to have some “new” clothing throughout your weight loss journey.
